There have been 49 different teams that have reached the CIAC semifinals since the playoffs were expanded to 48 teams in 2022. That's out of 96 available spots. There have been 30 teams who have reached multiple semifinals the past four years, and Greenwich, New Canaan and Ansonia have reached the semis all four times.
There are five conference championship games set for Saturday, Dec. 6, including a rematch between No. 3 Georgia and No. 9 Alabama and a meeting between the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers.

The WIAA championship in Washington’s largest classification has come down to the Sumner Spartans (10-3) vs. the Lake Stevens Vikings (13-0). Lake Stevens is the No. 2 seed, and Sumner is No. 5. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on Saturday, December 6 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
The quest for a 2025 PIAA state title has reached the last round, with the final championship game set for Saturday night at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg. In Class 6A, the championship has come down to Pittsburgh Central Catholic vs. La Salle College. The winner will be crowned as the 2025 PIAA 6A state champion.
